Wayside Waifs is the largest pet adoption center in Kansas City, placing over 5,400 animals each year in loving forever homes. Wayside does not euthanize adoptable animals. Several Buttonwood staff have adopted pets from Wayside and routinely foster pets to acclimatize them to other animals and provide care when the shelter is full.
Friends of KC Animals is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) liaison between area shelters, rescue groups and the public, helping our community’s abused, neglected, lost and abandoned animals. FoKCA secures rescue for shelter animals and strays, gathers donations for area shelters and rescues, organizes adoption events and pays for medical treatment of ownerless dogs, cats and the like that would otherwise receive no attention.
American Association of Equine Practitioners whose mission is to improve the health and welfare of the horse and to provide resources for the benefit of the equine industry.
United States Dressage Federation. USDF was established for the purpose of promoting and encouraging a high standard of accomplishment in dressage throughout the United States, primarily through educational programs.
Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association sets standards for registration of animals in the Association with the idea of providing breeders options to select and breed. Also, the Association seeks acquaint horse lovers and the general public with accepted standards and goals of the MFTHBA.
Funded annually by Buttonwood Financial Group, the Buttonwood Foundation contributes thousands of dollars to nonprofit organizations focused around: Arts, Education, International, Equestrian, and Medicine.
